Keeks’ Birdhouse is a South Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for animals in need. We provide safe housing, proper nutrition, and compassionate care while helping adoptable animals find loving forever homes.

If you need to surrender an animal, please complete our Intake & Surrender Form or email us at keeksbirdhouse@gmail.com. All surrenders are subject to available space and approval. A surrender fee may apply to help cover the animal's care, including food, housing, and veterinary expenses.

Keeks’ Birdhouse is not open to the general public. All adoptions, animal surrenders, and visits are by appointment only and must be arranged in advance.

Keeks’ Birdhouse is located in Miami-Dade County, South Florida. For the safety and privacy of our animals, our sanctuary's physical address is provided only to visitors with confirmed appointments.

We rescue and care for a variety of animals, including parrots and other birds, reptiles, small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets, as well as farm animals. Our ability to accept new animals depends on available space, resources, and their individual care needs.

Start by viewing our available animals on Instagram and completing our Adoption Application. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we'll arrange a virtual or in-person meet and greet to help ensure a good match.

Adopters must be at least 18 years old, provide a safe and appropriate home, and commit to lifelong care. Some animals require prior experience. All adopters must complete an application, agree to our adoption policies, and pay the applicable adoption fee.

Yes, we may require a virtual or in-person home check as part of the adoption process. This helps us ensure the animal will have a safe, suitable environment that meets its specific needs.

Yes, adoption fees vary depending on the animal and help support veterinary care, proper nutrition, housing, and other essential needs. All adoption fees go toward supporting the animals in our care.

If you can no longer care for an animal adopted from Keeks’ Birdhouse, please contact us immediately. Per our adoption agreement, the animal must be returned to our rescue and cannot be sold, given away, or transferred to another person without our approval.

No. Animals cannot be adopted as surprise gifts. The person who will be the primary caregiver must complete the adoption application, meet the animal, and agree to our adoption requirements. This helps ensure every animal is placed in a loving, prepared, and responsible home.

Absolutely! We're happy to provide post-adoption guidance on proper nutrition, housing, enrichment, and general care. Our goal is to help every adopted animal thrive in its new home.

No. All animals adopted from Keeks’ Birdhouse are placed as companion animals only. Breeding, resale, or transferring an adopted animal to another person is prohibited under our adoption agreement.
